Will my chicken be okay tomorrow?

I took a packet of chicken out of the freezer yesterday lunchtime and it’s been defrosting in the fridge since.
I planned to cook it for fajitas for dinner tonight but we had an unexpected McDonalds on the way home from Ikea this afternoon and now after snacks and prosecco don’t fancy cooking dinner.

Will it be okay if I leave it overnight and cook it tomorrow morning? So basically it will have been in the fridge for about 48 hours at that point.

Yes

I would use it. Its supposed to be used within 24 hours of being defrosted but fridge defrosting takes ages.

If you froze it in a mad rush because it was about to go off, then give it a sniff and prepare for it not to be OK, but if you froze it in plenty of time then I wouldn't think twice about it.

If you're not sure you could cook the fajita stuff tonight then reheat tomorrow.

Okay seems pretty safe, I tend to freeze meat as soon as I buy it and then just defrost when we need it so it will have been frozen within plenty of time of its sell by date
