Do we need a TV or a computer monitor?

Looking to set up our teen's bedroom initially to be able to watch dvds and play Xbox online but maybe later to stream films too. Do we need a telly or a computer monitor to plug them into? I'm a bit clueless about ports and what difference it'll make to quality. His room doesn't have a wired connection but the WiFi is okay.

Either would work. Just make sure that there are speakers and a HDMI port. A TV would be the safer bet and will come with a remote control.

You will be able to run it off the WiFi.

Ah, speakers are a good shout, and thanks, will look into what's available.

If you cant find a TV with dvd player. You can play dvds on the xbox by installing an app.

I didn't know that, useful to know but for now we've got an old dvd player that we could plug in. I've been learning about aerials too, and realising just how old and dated our living room TV is!
