My mums 60th birthday, any ideas what I can get her?

My mum is turning 60 in September. She's recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and she will be having chemo while turning 60.
She likes most things really not fussy at all. I just want something really special for her.

Has any one any special ideas?

Pretty jewellery is always a good bet. I usually get that for my mum.

Does she have a garden? If so, a beautiful old rose, or a fruit tree.

Otherwise, if your budget runs to it, a truly extravagant pair of shoes.

My son gave me this a couple of years ago - it's fantastic...

Jewellery is a good idea maybe something with her birthstone?

Nope, no garden unfortunately. She has problems with her feet so shoes wouldn't be great.

Sorry should have included my budget, I'd say £150 tops.

A mature olive tree or a piece of art (doesn’t have to be large, maybe a little painting of meadow or the sea), or a bespoke blanket or quilt.

My mum is 60 in a few days, us kids have grouped together to get her an animal experience at wildlife park with her favorite animal. Shes told us all not to get anything as weve all been hit by furlogh or sheilding so actually it was cheaper for us to do this then individual gifts

@scarfaceace love that idea. Thank you

I'm 58 and I'd love a spa day. Even better if my daughter would come too (15, yet to experience anything like it).
Or if going all out a long weekend at a spa retreat. Not one that makes me go on a diet mind!

Depending on how well she was during chemo treatment, I'd perhaps think about simple treats at home, take a smoked salmon brunch around to her house to share with her, or send an M&S afternoon tea hamper complete with birthday cake, then calling's with a bottle of fizz.
Or if she is well enough and there is an NT house open with a cafe, they usually do good afternoon tea, and you could view the gardens etc.

Other things she might like, a new Kindle, a nice handbag, her favourite perfume.

For my 50th my kids got me a really lovely silver pen. Might not be everyone's idea of an exciting present but I absolutely love it and it's something I use all the time.

Thanks everyone, so many great ideas.
