Weird lump or bump on my eyeball visible through upper lid.

Colleague commented on a spot on my eyelid over zoom. Thought nothing of it but on closer inspection I have a blood vessel protruding a little. I can feel it through my upper lid and she noticed it over virtual meeting. I have no idea if it's new or something to worried about. Are opticians even open or is it a GP visit. In early fifties, it's my lazy eye so vision crap in it anyway.

Does anyone know about these things?

Opticians are open for problems (not necessarily routine things) & this would definitely count as a problem

I think you should definitely get that looked at! I once had an infected cyst in my eyelid and the GP said they take stuff to do with eyes very seriously and that if it didn’t respond to strong antibiotics within 3 days I would be admitted to hospital for IV antibiotics. Luckily it did! But the point is that someone qualified should look at it very quickly.

I think it might be GP - because I think in my area you’d need to go the Eye Pavilion for something like that.

GP will probably send you to optician so just ring your own optician, this will class as emergency. I work in an opticians and they have the equipment to look beyond what is on the surface to the back of the eye. Please don't ignore it.

You need to go to the opticians first they will refer you to the hospital if needed. No point going to the GP, they dont have the equipment to properly check your eye
