Has anyone had a ct scan and a cancer diagnosis

I had an emergency referral for cancer tests two weeks ago and had a ct scan Saturday. I was told if it’s bad I will hear quickly but how long is quick. I’ve spent two months with my life on hold and only have plans for a terminal illness diagnosis. I now think it’s probably a peptic ulcer or stomach lining damage.

Can anyone who has had a ct scan for cancer tell me how long they waited for results please

Thanks

Mine was just within two weeks but not sure what is happening at the minute with Covid. It turned out I did have cancer but I had a surgical biopsy and had my tumour removed. I have been well since. Try not to worry think no news is good news.
Take care

I’m sorry you’re going through this.

Not me personally but my mum had a CT scan that turned out to be terminal bowel cancer (caught at a very late stage) and they told her the day afterwards.

I hope you won’t have to wait long to hear.

I know someone who had a CT for terminal cancer when he was 70 - found out quickly way before 2 weeks. Within a week. (ten years later he’s still kicking around as the palliative treatments have worked beautifully. So don’t lose hope!)

So sorry you're facing this.

My mum had a CT scan one Friday and they called her in on the following Wednesday and gave her a cancer diagnosis.

Thanks

When I had a scan I was told I would hear within 6 weeks. I got a phone call from the consultant asking me to come in with my husband in 2 days time. No guessing what the results were! 🥴🤣 If it’s bad news they tend to move very quickly and get in touch.

Try not to worry no news is good news. Sometimes a shadow can show up on an xray so they order a CT to get a proper picture about what is going on it could be something or it could be nothing. Take care.
