I'm alone in the house for the first time since March 20th

DD has gone to the park for a picnic with a couple of friends.

DS is playing with next doors children in the garden - they'll come here tomorrow to give neighbours a bit of a break.

DP has gone to the office for an hour or so.

Even the cats are sunbathing on the patio

Its unbelievably quiet . I've got the back doors open with a lovely cool breeze coming through. a cup of coffee and its just lovely. I can feel myself unwinding.

You are SO lucky. I'm looking at September before I get any house time completely on my own Sad

MinorArcana · 23/06/2020 15:59

Enjoy!

You lucky thing, enjoy!

BogRollBOGOF · 23/06/2020 16:03

Yey! I had 45 minutes last week but I was on the tail end of a Zoom session so didn't reap the full joys.

I'm normally on my own during school hours and I didn't realise until I had kids, just how much alone time I need as I always had enough and sought out external company more.

HUCKMUCK · 23/06/2020 16:06

This happened to me last week when DS went to school for 2 hours a day!

It was bliss!

No more though - DS will not be back at school now until September.

I miss having the house on my own sooooooooooo much!

Doje · 23/06/2020 16:08

It's so lovely isn't it. When fishing was allowed again, DH took the two kids and went out for FOUR HOURS!! It was amazing.

Enjoy it OP.

Magnificentbeast · 23/06/2020 16:14

That was me 2 weeks ago OP. It was bliss even though I was sat at my desk working. So, so quiet.

Enjoy!

GBarmy · 23/06/2020 16:21

That's me today. DH has taken the kids for a long walk on the cliff tops. They have been out since 10am, it feels very odd. I'd love to say I've spent the day sipping cocktails in the garden, but alas I'm wfh, so no such luck

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 23/06/2020 16:26

I genuinely couldn't tell you when I last had the house to myself - DH and I work mostly at home in normal times so unless he has a rare trip to the office or a meeting he's here even when the dc aren't.

JustAPassingFashion · 23/06/2020 16:30

Oh my God OP I'm so jealous. Is it blissful? Quiet? What's it like to go more than 17 seconds without somebody shouting you? Let me indulge Grin

listsandbudgets · 23/06/2020 16:59

They're all back but it was indeed bliss. I hadn't realised how much noise they all made. I will make unfair it in spades tomorrow though when my neighbours 2 younger children come round!! Worth it though just for that peaceful interlude
