Weird but important issue!

Our washing machine broke down. Husband took washing to work with him. Did washing there with Ariel pods, took washing home smelt amazing! So we got washing machine fixed and bought some pods.. Did a washing.. Not a trace of that beautiful smell! Same temperature (40), tumble dryer used both times. What could possibly be making the difference?!

Your machine rinses more?

Residue of something else in the other machine?

I guess it could rinse more, though not sure.

Definitely not used to the smell...and the clothes now have no smell at all.

There shouldn't be a residue of anything as we clean it regularly, but I will give it a clean just in case.

He didn't.

I noticed that too today I thought I'd used the fairy dishwasher tabs as they're very similar looking! Oh, and I hate the child proof box - it reminds me of when my grandma used to ask me to open her childproof pill bottles when I was little!

I just want that gorgeous washing smell back. Sob.

Did he use fabric conditioner?

Were the pods he had in work older ones as they might have changed them and have different perfume in new ones maybe

Absolutely no help to you, but take BF washing to work in case of breakdown is a genius idea for me

His work is local. Same pods (he sent me a picture so we could buy some to use at home). It's a mystery, and I am very disappointed!

Have you thoroughly cleaned your washer lately? Apparently a dishwasher tablet does a good job of cleaning the washing machine's insides. Then once done , that strong nice smell might stay?

Either that or like someone already said, perhaps your washer rinses a wee bit too well.

Yes, we clean with soda crystals and white vinegar.

How did you dry the washing at work and at home? My washing smells of the detergent if I use the tumble dryer, but not if I dry it outside.

I don't usually buy Ariel pods but was given them as a substitute in my shopping. The smell is gorgeous! But really, overpoweringly strong. I usually use non bio with no noticeable smell so I really noticed this. No idea why you can't smell it at home 🤷‍♀️

We used the tumble dryer at work, and outside and the tumble dryer at home. I have put something in a quick wash to see if it even comes out of the machine smelling the same.

The smell is gorgeous..I could get whiffs of it all day when wearing the clothes..lovely! I want it back!

I use the Ariel pods but only get the really nice smell when combined with blue comfort

I've stopped using fabric conditioner quite so much and you can definitely smell the wash powder more

OK, so quick 30 min wash done with one item one pod (wasteful!) and there is a slight smell but not the gorgeousness of the work washed items

Is the washing machine at work bigger? I find when I overload my machine the clothes don’t smell anywhere near as good as when there’s far fewer items in there.

I’d assume the work machine wasn’t cleaned so the clothes had more residue on them,
