Starting new job! Advice about online courses...

I'm so excited! I start a new job at the end of July- it's a really good step up for me and perfect timing as well.

I want to really brush up on my skills before starting and would like to do an online MS office course and also a meeting minutes course as well, as I could definitely do with some practice and improvement.

I've had a quick google and there's loads of courses that come up on Reed, most with really huge discounts. Before I start and pay for any, does anyone have any recommendations for an MS office course that's worth doing, and maybe meeting minutes too? I've never done an online course like this before and wanted to make sure what I'm paying for is worthwhile and legit as it were!

TIA 🙂

Congratulations on you new job! I can’t recommend any particular courses but if it's just practice you need have you looked on YouTube? I've done plenty of Microsoft and minute taking courses over the years but nowadays if I want to brush up on anything I have a look at YouTube as there are lots of really clear videos on both topics and you’ll save yourself some money. Most of the skills I’ve developed have been from just having a go based on YouTube videos. Also lots of useful free pdfs online about taking minutes.

@daisym00n thanks for this- my friend directed me to some decent and fairly cheap courses on Reed that she thought looked reputable, something to put on the CV too I guess, but I wouldn't have thought of looking on YouTube, good tip
