Are GHD's still the best straighteners?

I have had mine 12 years and they are dying. They have served me well and I use them almost every day.

Its my birthday in a few days and I have some money from my Dad so I am going to get some new ones, but what are the best ones now?

Cloud nine

Second cloud nine!
They're much better, especially if you curl your hair using straighteners.

Same as other posters - I love my cloud 9's. My hair can get very brittle with over straightening but cloud 9s can be used at a lower temp which is much better for my hair.

Thank you, have taken a look and they do thick hair ones which is a bonus!

They’re the best I’ve tried. My friend has Dyson straighteners and said it’s very much style over substance.

I moved onto could nine years ago and I’d never go back.

I’d used GHD’s for years, but I’d need to straighten my hair twice before I’d even leave the house.

Could nines are amazing. My daughter has super curly hair and they give her beautiful sleek hair for days.

I have the original ones.

I have the wide plate Cloud 9s, they're great for my thick hair.

I was going to get another pair of GHDs after my old ones died, but there's a lot of stuff online about the newer GHDs being not so good, and how the person who designed GHDs has moved to Cloud 9. I don't know how true that is, but I'm very happy with my Cloud 9s and wouldn't switch back.

My first GHDs lasted 10 years and did a great job. When they died two years ago I replaced them with GHDs again but they're rubbish for my thick curly/wavy hair. I'm now hoping they die soon so I can get the wide plate Cloud 9s.

My GHDs lasted 9 years then I replaced them with another pair. They were absolutely rubbish and done nothing for my hair.
DH bought me a pair of cloud nines and they are so much better my hair stays straight until I wash it again.

Like other posters, I replaced an old pair of GHD with a newer pair. The newer ones only lasted 3 years & I didn't find them anywhere near as good.

I bought Cloud 9 Touch ones last year & they're great. They even straighten my hair nicely when I cba to blow dry first (it's quite thick & unruly), which the last GHDs struggled with.
