Daughters birthday today and she really wants to go and choose a scooter, isn’t strictly necessary but now they are open my husband said it’s fine take her, my anxiety is quite bad at the moment so I’m a bit worried, has anyone else taken their child/children this week?

I didn’t realise they were open. My DD has birthday money burning a hole in her pocket and that will take up most of the day. Thanks for the idea.

I took my son on Monday after his first day back at school, no queue and pretty much empty inside. He was so so happy

Thanks for the replies, I am going to take her, she is very excited, she’s looking forward to some mommy and daughter time too as I usually work weekends. Smiles all round

I took mine to Smyths this week. It was empty. People were respectful and distancing.

It was nice for my kids to choose something for themselves. Especially as they have been unable to do so for so long.

I took my DD earlier this week. There was someone on the door to ensure that people used anti bac when coming in, the aisles are one way, it wasn’t crowded at all. Much better than some other shops have been.

SparkyBlue · 20/06/2020 16:06

We took our three children to Smyths today. We had it promised for weeks

Quietheart · 20/06/2020 16:07

I went by accident as they had click and collect which had been on the door. I went to collect my item and was told as the shop was open I had to go in to collect it.

Wide aisles, one way, anti bac and social distancing, not sure they would let us test out the scooters though?

I took my two to our local toyshop (not Smyths) to pick a toy each as a treat last week. Plenty of other families doing likewise. The "necessary" thing is now redundant with all shops being open

I have been this week and it was fine and well organised.
