I've a few friends with upcoming birthdays and need suggestions of fab gifts. Would love to hear what you've received recently and loved.

All mid-late 40s, budget up to £20. Thank you Smile

I got a meal at the Gherkin with cocktails in the bar beforehand. A gift voucher for my local beauty parlour, expensive perfume, champers, voucher for a facial, retro cocktail glasses,

Could you pitch in with a friends and get an experience thing worth a bit more? I was given a gliding experience once and really enjoyed it- although more a tick to say well I've done that now, but still fun.

Got DH a learn to fly once, but in a 4 seater so I could go along too. Also a memorable experience.

  • cooking class, cocktail making, foraging experience?
  • origami lesson (friend did this recently and loved it)
  • hamper of things they are into- gardening gloves, secateurs, seeds, pamper things or nice jams/wine/crackers/quince paste?
  • nice dressing gown, slippers or eye mask
  • massage voucher
  • calligraphy set

Another friend was given a taxidermy class. Not for everyone of course, but again, something different. She stuffed a squirrel!

Decent chocolate, I only eat 85% without flavours in and love choc from my favourite shop locally so this is what DH always buys me.

Gardening stuff maybe a tool from NIKITA which has ace gardening accessories.

A bottle of good Cremant if they like sparkling wine.

A voucher for 'the ordinry' as you can get lots for £20 and we are all at the age we need lots of retinol...

concernedforthefuture · 20/06/2020 19:47

The taxidermy class is certainly interesting!
