Hi,

We have looked at 2 properties. One at hurst road (A2) very close to Albany park station and the one is on the nicer side ( I think ) of welling. Which would be a better place to live in? I found the Hurst road a bit too quiet and sad. Am I wrong here as I otherwise have heard only positive things about Bexley. Please help.

I grew up in Bexley Village- Bexley is a nice area. Hurst Road leads to Bexley Village and there are nice pubs and restaurants there.
Bexley is much nicer than Welling if you are comparing the two areas!

What is important to you though, do you need schools or anything?

@tippedpink

Thanks for replying.
Schools - may be in future.
But for now I think connectivity to London. It is just me and my husband for now and we will be moving from central London to the area. So would like to be in a place which is not too far off from London and also has a good reputation, community.

Well for the future, Old Bexley primary school is very sought after and is on Hurst Road, good Grammar schools all nearby.

Both have train links to London as I am sure you know. Welling does seem busier, the high street has a big Tesco but traffic can be really bad on the high street. It can also get a little rough at night.

Bexley is nice you can't really go wrong there. My sister lives by Albany Park station, and my sister in law on the opposite side off Hurst Road, Camden Road (very nice road, HUGE houses). Both don't get any trouble, it's nice and quiet.

I worked for adult social services which covered both Bexley and Welling until recently- never had any problems with people who lived in Bexley but came across quite a social issues and a number of alcoholics in Welling. Not that that means anything, just food for thought really.
