Nice teacher thread

I promised a prolific poster named Jimmygrimble that I would start a thread about the nice teachers as soon as I met one. Well today I spoke to a TA acquaintance, who said that they are all desperate to get all pupils back to school with no distancing 😮, that they know this has been hard on parents 😮 and then gave my kids a high five to prove that they dont all think our kids are disease vectors 😮. There are still some nice teachers/tas out there! So I thought this thread could be a space where we share the nice things teachers have said or done during lockdown.

@ItsSummer exactly. A lot of children don't respond well to that.
I wouldn't be impressed either and quite frankly it just makes the TA sound reckless and selfish. Look at me going against the guidelines, aren't i lovely? It's just unnecessary.

I’m a teacher. I’m not nice. I always tell my class that Miss Trunchbull is my role model. Unfortunately that has them lining up to be swung round by their hair Grin

@Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies I read that and chuckled, then I noticed your username Grin

All of my post is true. Unfortunately, today Ofsted tends to frown on children being swung by their hair, so I have to abstain.

I have never made a child eat chocolate cake. Frankly, that was one of Miss Trunchbull’s teaching fails. Cakes are for the staffroom (me). Every teacher knows that.

I think a TA giving children high fives when social distancing is still very much in place across the country, is reckless and not ‘nice’ at all
