Put up a line or two from a song for people to guess.

For example:

Is there anybody out there trying to get through?
My eyes are so cloudy I cant see you

@ProseccoBubbleFantasies

Here's one just for you then...

And you look so mean because your pants are too tight

And forgot this one. 70s

I'm finding the 90s ones much harder.

Don't know if it's the same for the rest of you? I assume most of you on here are a similar age to me. I think my relationship with music changed in the 90s. I met and married DH. Spent less time in my bedroom listening to music over and over. No making up dance routines with friends, and not really having conversations about lyrics with them any more

Win or lose
sink or swim
one thing is certain
we'll never give in

1984

Willow2017 · 20/06/2020 23:00

What happened to all the easy ones? Grin

Honeyroar · 20/06/2020 23:00

Aww that’s the Frog Song by Paul Macartney

CoffeeBeansGalore · 20/06/2020 23:07

@ProseccoBubbleFantasies Agree with you tbh. Became a teenager in the 80s, but anything other than the mainstream 1990s stuff, I'm rather lost!

CoffeeBeansGalore · 20/06/2020 23:07

@Honeyroar Correct 😊

AJumpedUpPantryBoy · 20/06/2020 23:08

Some of these are hard - I think I have to admit I’m stuck in an eighties cultural time warp!

AJumpedUpPantryBoy · 20/06/2020 23:09

We bite and scratch and scream all night

Eighties

CrepuscularCritter · 20/06/2020 23:12

Babooshka is the rain coming down one The Connells 74 75?

CrepuscularCritter · 20/06/2020 23:13

And PantryBoy The Cure, Lovecats?

CoffeeBeansGalore · 20/06/2020 23:13

Absolutely adore this one.

The full moon's glowing
Blood red in the sky
It hangs like fire
On this winter's night

1993

CrepuscularCritter · 20/06/2020 23:15

And Drop Dead Gorgeous was Republica.

Willow2017 · 20/06/2020 23:17

Argh look way for 2 minutes and I miss 2!

I guess I never really stood a chance
I liked the music but I couldn't dance
1970's

SingingBabooshkaBadly · 20/06/2020 23:18

Crepuscularcritter yes, well done! That one’s been hanging around all day.

Agree Prosecco - I know a lot of 80s lyrics regardless of whether I liked the band or not but not so with the 90s. And yes, I think it has a lot to do with having less time to obsessively listen to music then.

SingingBabooshkaBadly · 20/06/2020 23:20

I think quite a few 90s bands just passed me by - Republica being one of them.

I’ll add a bit to the other one - 90s remember.

Is there someone else?
Or am I too familiar?
Was it when I said I wanted to have children?
Tore up all your photos,
Didn't feel too clever,
Spent the whole of Sunday
Sticking you together.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 20/06/2020 23:22

It was a hot summer night and the beach was burning
There was fog crawling over the sand
And when I listened to your heart I hear the whole world turning
I see the shooting stars, falling through your trembling hands

Late 1970s

CrepuscularCritter · 20/06/2020 23:24

I'm as human as the next girl

I like a bit of flattery

But I don't need your practiced lines

Your school of charm mentality

SingingBabooshkaBadly · 20/06/2020 23:25

And here’s one from the 70s.

She's so bold and me feeling old, just stroking her face

CoffeeBeansGalore · 20/06/2020 23:28

Nice easy 1980s

I want to be where the sun warms the sky
When it's time for siesta you can watch them go by
Beautiful faces, no cares in this world
Where a girl loves a boy, and a boy loves a girl

CrepuscularCritter · 20/06/2020 23:29

And I had one from the last thread that I'm not sure if anyone got (or I missed it).

I've come to smell the seasons change

And watch the city as the sun goes down again

CoffeeBeansGalore · 20/06/2020 23:30

@Willow2017 yes 😊
