At last a drug that has been promising in trials and cuts the rate of death from Covid-19 by a third - now available across the UK!

AIBU - no we have a long way to go yet

YANBU - we have turned the corner

Agree it's positive news. Steroids (hydrocortisone/pred) have been used in lung disease for years, also in ards. Asprin is another drug that's being used too due to the clotting issues noted as part of the covid disease process

From what I read from Chris Witty it seems to save one life in seven... That's good, but it isn't a cure.

Tbh there's no cure atm just supportive therapy like invasive/non invasive ventilation, proning, dialysis, inotopic support etc but ways of treating with the effects are appearing all the time.
