I’ve saved lots of 1 an 2 pound coins . I’m wanting to bag them up and take to the bank, but are banks taking coins at the moment? Does anyone know? Tia

Who do you bank with? Some NatWest have coin counters to bank the amount into your account.

I have an account with Halifax .

I was going to mention the coin machine at Natwest too.

Don’t use the ones in the supermarket, they deduct 7%!!

Maybe contact Halifax and ask if they have a coin machine?

Most banks have the coin machine now don't they? Just take them in and the coins go into your account .

cheeseslovesme · 16/06/2020 19:49

I’ve never noticed a coin machine before , so I will just ring up and enquire if they have one. Thanks

Stack them up around you and pretend you're Scrooge McDuck.

Paying it in is boring.

Metro banks have change machines that credit the full amount to you.

OldOakTreeRibbon · 16/06/2020 19:53

I’ve taken coins in coin bags to some banks a few times and they get snotty with you if you don’t bank with them, but Metro bank are nice about it.

I like to save up my loose change for ages and then put it through the self-service machine at the supermarket. It's weirdly satisfying.
