I don't know much about gas BBQs but charcoal is too much of a faff to use on a regular basis so would like to try gas.
Any advice/suggestions appreciated?

This one looks promising www.homebase.co.uk/outback-excel-2-burner-gas-bbq-silver-black_p403993.
Is a 2 burner sufficient for 4-6 people?

Watching with interest. We’re in need of a bbq but no idea what is best although sounds like gas if charcoal is a faff. I’m all for an easy lazy bbq life!

Only £95, when it is in stock! Wonder if anyone has this one? I always worry about the self assembly bit as am useless Grin

A lot of the 1 star reviews of the Argos own brand BBQs say that the back part of the grill heats up but the front doesn't.

We have this one and it's fabulous.

We haven't had any problems with it heating up. It works brilliantly.

We have this one. Bought at the beginning of lockdown and used numerous times. Family of four, but with enough space to cook on there for more.
Took two of us to assemble - to decifer the instructions, but it wasn’t too tricky.

Happy with it

Headperson · 22/06/2020 00:31

Thanks @justtheonethen and @ShirazSavedMySanity. That's quite encouraging. I wonder if because it's quite difficult to assemble these BBQs, people make mistakes and that's why they don't work properly.

TimeWastingButFun · 22/06/2020 01:11

I wouldn't get gas, it's harder to replace the canisters and you don't get properly BBQ'd food. We bought a bog standard Weber BBQ and it's brilliant.

Seeitsortit · 22/06/2020 06:56

We got the gas/charcoal combo from Aldi at £159 - great on both sides and we have no issues at all with gas supply, google in your area, we have loads

Longtalljosie · 22/06/2020 06:57

I know this isn’t what you asked but we have an electric one - a Weber Q. So easy and convenient.

ShirazSavedMySanity · 22/06/2020 07:03

We replaced our gas this weekend - 8 years since buying it!
