Anybody own a Fiat 500? What's this button?

I have a new (to me) car and this button is driving me mad. What does it do? It's with the climate control buttons.

I don't have a manual and the online manuals for the model of car don't show this button.

It makes a dashboard light come on, showing the same symbol but I can't detect a material change in anything. It's next to the heaters/blowers so presumably it's something to do with that?

Possibly the stop/start button

Exploring · 14/06/2020 17:54

Yes I also think it's to switch off stop start 👍

Thank you!

No amount of googling was helping. I didn't even know you could turn stop/start off.

It had become a bit like that episode of Friends with Monica and the switch.

I have a fiat 500 for 5 years and didn't know this. Also just found out from tik tok last week that it has 2 secret storage compartments Shock. I really should read the manual when I get a new car Grin

Defaultuser · 14/06/2020 18:17

@chasegirl where are the secret storage compartments?

chasegirl · 14/06/2020 18:22

Under the front passenger seat and under the top of the shelf that's in front of the passenger seat, there's a pull down lid

CherrySpritz · 14/06/2020 18:30

Why would you Google or ask MN when you have a manual that tells you everything about the car?

Why would you post when you haven't even read the original post which clearly says she hasn't got the manual....

You learn something new every day!

I own a 500 and yes, Stop Start.

The pull down lid under the shelf is where I keep my dry wipe markers as my 500 dash has the white board on it 😁

alfagirl73 · 14/06/2020 19:09

Ejector button! Grin LOL!

My op wasn't even that long. I'll try and condense it even more next time, just for you @CherrySpritz

I can only find one secret compartment. But I'll have to check when I'm not sitting in the passenger seat while we're doing 60mph.

Hopefully this image explains where the other compartment is.

That’s a 500c I add. But same place.

carexfairex · 14/06/2020 20:53

I have a glove box there Confused

ShowOfHands · 14/06/2020 21:01

I'd found that one, just couldn't check under the seat while we were moving.

I'm home now and have found them both. I'm wondering what to hide in them. I'm idly considering stashing emergency gingerbread men in them.

It's the button for street domething or other. Basically it turns off the stop start technology that saves fuel

SpeedofaSloth · 14/06/2020 21:12

@alfagirl73 we also say that any button we don't know what it does is an ejector button too Grin
Sometimes it operates the the other person's seat, sometimes your own.
