DH at A&E - can't go and be with him

Just venting really. DH developed a numbness in his arms at about 9.00pm and felt like someone was standing on his shoulder. No actual chest pain, no other symptoms. Rang 111 - ambulance came. They took him to A&E. He's had a chest xray and bloods which were all fine. He has to have a second lot of bloods in an hour and if they are ok I can go and get him.

They don't really know what it is apparently. They have told him definitely not a heart attack or stroke although some of his symptoms are similar to a HA.

I am wondering about anxiety? He hates his job and it is really busy and stressful. The trouble is, taking time off will stress him out more. He had to have 6 weeks off at the beginning of the year as he had surgery - that's the first time he's been off sick in 5 or 6 years apart from 3 days with tonsillitis a year or so ago. His company have a really shitty attitude to sickness. People who take this piss get no consequences but he got a load of grief about being off for essential surgery. It's a really toxic environment and I hope this might be the push he needs to look for something else. He works in a field that has not been at all affected by covid so still jobs about that he could do. I'd even like him to work maybe less hours - we can afford it but I don't know if he'll go for it.

DD and DS are here (older teens). We're all tired but don't want to sleep at the moment.

Hoping I'll be able to get him soon.

That's great that he's OK in terms of heart attack/stroke, but a horrible time nonetheless. I hope it turns out to be the new job kick up the backside you'd like it to be!

How is he today OP?

DH has something odd like that a few years ago. I honestly thought I was going to lose him in the car in the way to hospital. It turned out to be a migraine!

My personal experience is that an anxiety attack can mimic a heart attack or stroke. I get numbness in my face and left arm, a ‘heavy’ shoulder. It’s so hard to believe that you’re not dying or aren’t seriously ill, but that’s what happens.
