What is your favourite ice cream?

My current favourite is chocolate peanut butter, from Haagen Dazs (spelled this wrong..) and a coconut gelato. Used to be a massive fan of HD salted caramel, and their caramel pecan. Not had those in ages though.

What's your favourite?

If I was in Italy; somewhere like SAN Giminagno, I’d have a scoop of chocolate and a scoop of passion fruit. I also love lemon sorbet, raspberry, chocolate orange, marmalade and mint choc chip.
Sadly, as inviting as Magnums look, they just taste of margarine to me.

SockYarn · 13/06/2020 21:37

Not a massive ice cream fan really, we sometimes buy the Aldi magnum rip offs but wouldn't ever buy a tub.

Had some liquorice ice cream in the south of France last year and it was AMAZING.

Davespecifico · 13/06/2020 21:38

Are Aldi and Lidl Magnum rip offs less margeriney than the real thing? If so, I will stock up?

I had some Ricotta and Pear ice cream in Amalfi and oh, I would go back there just for that. It was amazing.

AbsentmindedWoman · 13/06/2020 21:40

I think Magnums have changed. I remember they were nice about 20 years ago.

Oh and my other favourite ice cream was white chocolate and stem ginger from a little shop by the Boddinick ferry in Fowey. It was soooo creamy and gingery and just lovely.

MotorwayDiva · 13/06/2020 21:42

Fleur Di latte or baci if in Italy.

ShiningTor · 13/06/2020 21:42

Bacio 😛

nancybotwinbloom · 13/06/2020 21:43

Haagan das salted caramel

ShiningTor · 13/06/2020 21:43

@MotorwayDiva cross post!

CalmYoBadSelf · 13/06/2020 21:44

I love Haagen Dazs Pralines and Cream. It's the taste of holidays to me

rookiemere · 13/06/2020 21:44

Pistachio ice cream, but can't really get it here. M&S make one and its ok but not as nice as the stuff you get in Italy.

BikeRunSki · 13/06/2020 21:45

Pistachio
Peanut butter

Local dairy farm has an ice cream parlour, who do all sorts of weird and wonderful flavours. Carrot and Coriander was nice. Cherry Bakewell was delicious!

formerbabe · 13/06/2020 21:46

Rum and raison

bluechameleon · 13/06/2020 21:48

If it is the little tubs I usually choose stem ginger. From a supermarket I like Ben and Jerry's fish food. Individual ice creams I usually choose a feast.

JadLi · 13/06/2020 21:48

Ben and Jerry's moophoria - salted caramel brownie... It's the lighter, lower calorie one too which is a bonus!

Magnums are overrated - it's a choc ice on a stick!

lazylinguist · 13/06/2020 21:48

Nutty ones. Pistachio, peanut butter, praline. Also love lavender ice cream.

avocadoze · 13/06/2020 21:49

Lime sorbet. Raspberry sorbet. Lemon sorbet. Orange sorbet. Grapefruit sorbet...

munchbunch12 · 13/06/2020 21:51

I agree with pistachio, it's delicious!

RaskolnikovsGarret · 13/06/2020 21:52

HD strawberry cheesecake. Ate a pint every day when pregnant with DD2.

skybluee · 13/06/2020 21:53

Neopolitan - strawberry, vanilla and chocolate.

LunaNorth · 13/06/2020 21:55

Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food.

Vinorosso74 · 13/06/2020 22:01

I'm not fussed one a lot of ice creams but love the proper stuff you get on holiday. There is a shop in the UK Amorino (I first discovered it in.Barcelona) which is good.
I like the nutty ones so pistachio or hazelnut. Like a raspberry or dark chocolate sorbet.
We stayed in a small town in Italy a few years back which had an ice cream shop just off the beach and I loved their peach ice cream, pineapple was good too-very refreshing after being on the beach.

mummymayhem18 · 13/06/2020 22:05

Haagen Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake and Salted Caramel. Carte D'Or Mint and Rum and Raisin. Kelly's Candyfloss ice cream which you can't buy in the shops and I always buy when I go to Center Parcs is absolutely lush 😋. Although for cheaper alternatives Sainsburys own Strawberries and Cream and there Caramel ones are very good. As you can see I like a few 🤣🤣🍦🍨😋.

Nacreous · 13/06/2020 22:09

In Italy I love pistachio ice cream.

From the supermarket, HD pralines and cream is my favourite I think.
