Do many of you agree there's nothing more disappointing than a hotel stay where you discover the breakfast is poor
I've refused to stay in hotels that don't provide a proper breakfast, ie cooked and high protein. I subscribe to the 'breakfast like a king, lunch like a lord, dine like a pauper' school of thought and eat what many would consider a 'greedy bastard breakfast', which the one on the other thread absolutely is not BTW, just about every day.
Toast, cereal, yogurt and banana seems a bit light and insubstantial to be honest and don't even get me started on the pointless waste of calories that is pastries. Who the fuck thinks that's a worthwhile breakfast?
I eat much better when I eat that way, control my weight better and am generally less hungry, because I'm eating when I'm actually burning calories, not trying to exist all day on not very much in anticipation of a big dinner.
Today I've had 3 crumpets with cheese on, which is a bit light for me, my breakfasts rotate between:
Home made McDs breakfast wrap in these awful times when the real deal is not available (two quorn cocktail sausages, potato waffle done in the toaster and a one egg omelette with brown sauce in a tortilla)
Cheese, potted meat or pate on toast
2-4 egg omelette possibly with beans and/or potato waffles
Bacon, sausage, black pudding, beans and toast.
Egg mayonnaise sandwiches (3 slices bread, 2 eggs) if I have an early start as I can take it with me to eat later.
DP is a sausage and egg McMuffin man (2 off, double sausage, plus hash browns) and he's really missing them poor lad. We've been looking in the supermarkets but the supermarket sausage patties seem to be sold out everywhere, so it sounds like he's not the only one, so I've bought sausage meat and I'm going to make him a load for the freezer (yes I know he could do it himself, but he's currently working out of the house for about 55 hours a week and I'm WFH supposedly full time, but in reality I have about 20 hours a week to actually do) so our Sunday GBB is going to be a big pile of sausage and egg muffins, hash browns and lots of good coffee.
