Where are you buying children's clothes from?

Have a toddler and baby both need new clothes. I have been trying to get them stuff online and it's driving me mad. There sizes always seem out of stock I could get bits from different shops but will be spending a fortune on delivery. I just want to order from one place. Also tight on money at the minute as I know I could probably find stuff on more expensive sites.
Have people found the supermarket clothes sections well stocked or are they like online? We get our food delivered so haven't been since March and only want to go if it's essential. Which tbh I am now deeming it essential.

Our local tesco was ransacked but other shops like asda and morrisons were better. Otherwise online from h&m

APurpleSquirrel · 08/06/2020 15:02

In-store at most supermarkets seem well stocked. I've bought stuff for my DC from Sainsbury's & Asda. Not tried online for basics but been struggling with decent sized rash suit/separates for DD so am going to go with Fatface as prices aren't much more than supermarkets.

Asda.

I popped into Poundland a few days ago as I needed some cleaning bits and it was closest. They have a clothes range in some of their stores called Pep & co. I picked up some pants, socks and a pair of trousers all for ds. The pants and socks are great, the trousers are not the best quality but sufficient and don't look like they'll fall apart at first wash. Nice and cheap too. Perfectly adequate for now. I did get dd some bits from h&m near the start of lockdown but they took weeks to arrive and when I've looked recently, many sizes seem to be out of stock

TheFormidableMrsC · 08/06/2020 15:07

I've bought from H&M and Tu at Sainsbury's but online due to limited store stock. I've also bought a few bits from eBay.

userabcname · 08/06/2020 15:09

I managed to get quite a few bits on H&M. I

eBay, M&S online but had to pay delivery, John Lewis online as could collect at Waitrose. Our big Sainsbury's had little.

Spam88 · 08/06/2020 15:35

I've mostly been buying from H&M. Free postage so you can just order bits as they come into stock.

okiedokieme · 08/06/2020 15:41

Lots in asda this week but a large branch

BroomHandledMouser · 08/06/2020 15:42

I’ve had exactly the same trouble. I ended up getting a load from H&M yesterday in the end.

George was the worst, I filled up my basket and it froze twice and lost my hours worth of browsing Angry

YourStarlessEyes · 08/06/2020 15:45

I've been buying a lot second hand, from vinted and eBay! Mostly because during lockdown when they've needed something in particular they've been out of stock in their sizes!

happypotamus · 08/06/2020 16:56

Online from Matalan, Mountain Warehouse (nice t-shirts and shorts), click and collect from Sainsburys. All very successful and not ridiculously long waits for delivery.
Tried H&M in April. DC1 chose lots and lots of things she really wanted, spent ages browsing, put most of her birthday money towards it too, we waited weeks for delivery and then with no explanation they only sent 3 of the 11 things we had ordered. She still had no clothes that fit after the long wait and ended up in tears because they were her birthday presents and she had really wanted those things. If they were out of stock or whatever, why did H&M let me order them in the first place, or why didn't they email me and say that they wouldn't be able to send them? I really like H&M, they had lovely clothes at good value, but now I won't be able to trust ordering from them again, and I have no idea if/ when it would be possible to take DC to the shop.

Sunshine1235 · 08/06/2020 17:01

I gave up with H&M because I couldn’t get anything in the right size. I’ve been buying bundles second hand from eBay which to be honest is something I should have done a long time ago - so much cheaper

swaywithme · 08/06/2020 17:12

Supermarkets near me are all well stocked. Sainsbury's, Asda and Tesco's.

Ingridla · 08/06/2020 17:16

M&S

TheFormidableMrsC · 08/06/2020 17:20

As an aside, H&M's delivery has been exceptionally slow, around 2 weeks for me. I am not sure why that is. Under current circumstances delay is inevitable but they do seem exceptionally slow.

Cait73 · 08/06/2020 17:53

Asda & Sainsbury's are my favourites but I get a lot on eBay just search for bundles in their age/sex

Tuemay · 08/06/2020 18:05

H&M free delivery.
Next but they were delayed and even though I spent over £80, I still had to pay delivery!

Drivingdownthe101 · 08/06/2020 18:18

H&M, Next, Tu at Sainsbury’s, M&S, Zara... all online.

Levatrice · 08/06/2020 18:22

NOT verbaudet at the moment anyway, I love them but 4 weeks to deliver at the moment and that’s only after email after email. A shame as they have good sale offers sometimes

dooble · 08/06/2020 18:26

independents

hoppos · 08/06/2020 20:33

Thanks everyone I went to Sainsbury's in the end. It definitely wasn't as fully stocked as it used to be but I managed to get most of what I needed.

H and m. Love it. Become a member, I'm always getting 3 pounds off here and there or 20% and Saturday was 25 % off one item. Superb communication and delivery.

Bluebellpainting · 08/06/2020 21:22

In a similar situation but luckily just the one baby to buy for. Most stuff in his size has been out of stock when I’ve been into stores. Tried online and managed to get a few bits from m and s and Asda. I’m just keeping an eye on the local buy and sell page for bundles. He has grown out of his latest stuff at record speed. I’m open to other suggestions if people have any as still don’t have all the basics.

Drivingdownthe101 · 08/06/2020 21:24

I’ve got three to buy for, aged 6, 4 and 1 and haven’t had any issues finding their sizes anywhere.
