Have you used an IFA for retirement planning and was it worth it?

Hi all, we (both in our 40s) have been trying to come up with a financial plan to enable us to retire early (state pension age not until 67/68 and definitely don’t want to wait that long as due to health conditions there’s a good chance I won’t be able to fully enjoy life into old age). Has anyone used an advisor to help you plan for retirement and was it worth it? From my spreadsheets I think it’s doable but I may well be missing something as have had to make lots of assumptions. Any recommendations for someone you’ve used personally would also be appreciated 🙂

Hi, we have used one and its fantastic. Ours shows us retirement age, what are savings will be if we continue to save as we are now, when they'll run out etc depending on spending habits. We also had a few that showed different retirement ages (we are both able to retire at 55 if everything stays the same, not the DH will, he really enjoys what he does). It was really useful and well worth the money x

Yes. Very helpful to see shortfalls and predictions based on different scenarios.
