So there are two brothers: brother 1 and brother 2. There is an age gap between them and they grew apart and moved away from each other when older. They have an unusual surname.
Brother 1 has a son, Adam. Adam marries and has a daughter, Betty. Betty never marries, keeps her surname and has a daughter, Clemmie. So Clemmie has the same surname as Brother 1. She is 4 years old.
Brother 2 has a son, David. David marries and has a daughter, Ella. So Ella also has the same surname as Brother 2. She is also 4 years old.
Recently Betty has unwittingly moved to the same area as David. Clemmie and Ella have ended up in the same class at the same school. They realised they have the same surname and are asking how they are related. They are very excited to meet each other!
