How good is Lidl.

We need to tighten our belts so I'm thinking of trying Lidl.
Is there anything that you could recommend.
We normally use Asda or Morrisons.

Personally, I hate it. I have the ability to shop elsewhere so I do. If I had to shop at Lidl, I would choose Aldi instead.

It’s funny I’m the opposite. Love Lidl and am a bit meh about Aldi. Depends on the individual stores probably.

Lidl sell the strongest bin bags. Other than that I have no reason to shop in there.

They have a surprisingly large organic range.

I'd give it a go and see how you get on. Be careful to read the labels on the meat if indoor/outdoor/free range bothers you.

The bakery is wonderful. If you’re want to cut back on costs but still treat yourself a little bit they have bakery items for 49p.

Our Aldi is years old small scruffy limited. Whereas our new Lidl is big clean and has interesting foods. Love it when they do Italian specialties buy a lot then. Their wines are good. Vegetables perfect, ditto meats, whereas Aldi chicken can be out of date and smells the day you buy it. Their bread really is good

OH and their staff are friendly too

Lidl's fab! Especially for basics, and for their 'flavour of the week' special stock - they do Greek week, Italian week, street food week, etc. But I wouldn't say I save money there... the food is definitely cheaper, but I always end up impulse-buying loads of things I never knew I needed in the 'Middle of Lidl'!
