Posting in chat for traffic.

My friend text me asking if I could remember what song this lyric is from and now it's driving me mad too because I can't get it. For context we were big into Goth music from 1989 through the early 90's, although it may be from earlier. Please someone help with what song this lyric is from and who it's by.

It's a spoken bit that's quite slow and sounds quite angry, possibly at the beginning or between verses

'in to the verticulis/ventriculus (?) of this
right here (???) before meeee

I can hear it in my head but can't get beyond this (i'm thinking maybe Sisters of Mercy or Fields of the Nephilim, could be Christian Death). Definitely a bloke

Please help put us out of our misery kind MNers

I was going to say Sisters of Mercy but now doubting myself....

Got it eventually, it's Christian Death, This is Heresy, and I found that I used to sing it wrong as the line is 'into the vertiginous abyss'. I was remembering wrong 'get thee before meeeee' wasn't the end of that verse, it was the one before.

Thanks anyway @Allflightscancelled
