Where's good to bulk buy nice birthday cards?

ishouldtryabiteachdayy · 04/06/2020 16:20

I usually buy a load online and so I don't have to worry each birthday ( large family).

Where's good? I like nice quality arty cards, but don't want to spend a fortune? I've previously bought loads from whistlefish, which do good offers for 10 cards, but I think I've exhausted their range now. Any ideas or links please?

card factory or the works is where I get cards, usually 10 for £1 so 10p each and its mix and match

Whistlefish

Ignore me. Didn’t read your post properly.

Paper chase sometimes have nice boxes which are reasonable.

@aibutohavethisusername they are so good aren't they, but I've been using them for years. I'm sure I'm sending the same cards over and over. Bought some cards in desperation from
Thortful, they look like I printed them on my home primer and not good value 😕

@sleepismysuperpower1 I nearly bought these, but just think I need something less animal based. I do like them a lot.

I love them. I try to remember which ones I’ve bought before. I think in the last batch I got, this week one was a card I’ve got before.
I love the art too. I’ve got them in my living room.

I was about to say whistlefish too, I buy 6 months at a time. Used to buy Phoenix cards in bulk, not sure if they’re still going?

northernlittledonkey · 15/06/2020 17:05

Also M&S have some good cards in their £1 range.

MrsWicket · 15/06/2020 18:20

Thortful are brilliant. They’ve usually got an offer on for 4 A4 cards for £10 (plus p&p). Can write your own message inside. Fab quality - don’t go anywhere else for my cards now.

BlusteryLake · 15/06/2020 18:26

Whitefish. I stocked up there recently. They were doing 10 cards for £8. Nice quality.

TwoKidsStillStanding · 15/06/2020 18:27

I was actually really pleased with the ones I got from thortful!

namechangenumber2 · 15/06/2020 18:58

I often go to Etsy, quite like paper chase too . It also depends on the celebration, if it's a wedding, new baby etc I'll often spend more on something a little special as it's likely to be kept. If it's for a birthday then I might get something a little more simple

ishouldtryabiteachdayy · 15/06/2020 22:58

@TwoKidsStillStanding @MrsWicket don't you think the Thortful cards are too large? As it's A4 folded it looked a bit home made. Which they are just printing them themselves, although nice envelopes. I got the offer, but I don't think it's cheap really. Had them sent to me, so maybe if you can get them sent out directly it works better. I did find some nice designs and like the idea.

@northernlittledonkey I think Phoenix changes their name, not sure. I had bought from an "independent Phoenix trader" stall at a playgroup I went to, some nice sets.

@ishouldtryabiteachdayy, they are big! For what I wanted (kids’ cards), that was fine but I can see how that might not work for adult cards depending on what you have in mind. I’m normally a Paperchase fan when buying for fellow adults...

TwoKidsStillStanding · 17/06/2020 15:05

I agree it’s not the most sophisticated look!

Sewrainbow · 17/06/2020 16:52

Flamingo paperie is the new name of Phoenix trading, you can still get good deals when you bulk buy
