Apologies if this has been done elsewhere but I couldn’t find it. I thought it would be useful to collect some resources white people have found helpful to educate ourselves about race and racism.
I found White Fragility by Robin di Angelo life changing - made me understand how I can not only understand racism but also try to be an anti racist day to day. Whilst also acknowledging and moving on from my mistakes.
Why I’m longer taking to White People about Race, by Reni Eddo Lodge - from a British perspective and so extremely relevant
Between the world and me by Ta-Nehisi Coates - a letter from a father to his son about being a black man in America.
Friday Black by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah - Short stories about consumerism, capitalism and every day life, from the perspective of a young black man
I am finding it difficult to read much at the moment, but on my list are:
Girl, woman, other by Bernadine Evaristo
Black feminist thought by Patricia hill Collins
Would love to hear other recommendations and ideas
