Best kids wellies for messing about in streams?

Need something a bit more robust than muddy puddle-jumpers! We’ve been spending lots of time in local woods and there are some lovely shallow streams that the kids love jumping and playing in. Current wellies just aren’t up to it end up pouring out welly-fulls of water...then they never really dry out properly and omg they completely stink! Is there such a thing as a stream-hopping-proof welly? Or at least wellies that dry out super quick!

Would they not be better in bare feet for that?

There’s a couple of options here that look like they might fulfil your criteria - the mymayu and another have ties at the top - but I don’t have personal experience of any of them. I do like the company though - been good for previous purchases.

I did think bare foot but the ground is too spiky and painful to tread on...not nice smooth pebbles unfortunately. I also though crocs but I think they are just a bit unstable and would be totally submersed? I might give them a go however. Thanks for the link...will take a look!

DS is 16 now but we always bought Hunters.

We kept his first pair, bought the next pair second hand on eBay, sold them on eBay when outgrown and bought second hand again and so on. I always sold them for (give or take) what I paid for them as he was in them for so little time they never wore out.
