We live near the coast and have been taking advantage of walking / sunbathing on a particular secluded beach. There is no sand, just large pebbles (10-30cms +) but laid down anyway on a towel. Not particularly comfortable but bearable. Anyway, at one point I turned over to my left side and there was an excruciating pain near bottom of my rib cage - took my breath away, I almost cried out. My pain threshold is quite high so have to say it really did hurt!
The sharp pain subsided but area remains very tender, especially when pressing on lower ribs. Do you think rolling on to a lumpy pebble could have cracked a rib? I know there's not much to be done for such injuries but it's been over a week now and no sign of improvement. Any thoughts please? (taking paracetamol if the pain wakes me when I turn over in bed at night helps a bit).
