Show me your (non-ugly) desk chairs for WFH?

I need to set up a little home office for my laptop in the corner of my bedroom. Working from my kitchen island from a tall stool 5 days a week is doing nothing for my posture! I've ordered a small desk, but I need a chair which (a) doesn't cost the earth, and (b) isn't ugly and wouldn't look out of place in the corner of a bedroom.

Help please? There must be loads of people WFH at the moment who have had to do this.

Thanks!

Sorry, feel your pain! I've been searching as I've been using a dining chair without arms. Work have said they will reimburse me if I buy one, great. But no lovely office chaise anywhere in the small budget they gave me!! So I've gone for comfort, a black faux leather swivel chair, 1980s Wall Street style Grin

Ah, my company are funding up to £50 for a desk (which is fine, found one within budget) but if we want a chair we can either buy or own or have one of the ugly ones from the office delivered! I have to look at it when I'm in my bedroom so it needs to be pretty!!

I've just ordered this one because my back is absolutely killing me and a friend has this one and says it's great for back issues.

Not cheap and not small. But this was the least ugle ergonomic one I saw:

They are all pretty ugly. Sorry to be a bore but isn't your comfort, and particularly your back, the priority.

MinteeFresh · 03/06/2020 13:29

yes it is! Don't be like me. I have been sitting on a £9.99 plastic chair from Ikea for 8-10 hours a day for the last 11 weeks and now my back is absolutely fucked. Now I've had to order a 300 quid chair and fork out for 50 quid osteopath sessions.

I had a suitable desk and work sent my chair round. They will provide people with desks, though if they need them. Won't your employer do this? Don't spend money you don't need to.

I liked that Argos one pp's linked to but not available in my area sadly! Mine is also Argos but as I say the faux leather one for £80.

Thanks everyone. Yes my company is funding a desk but if we want a chair we have to 'borrow' one of theirs. Since I WFH a couple of days a week in normal, non-Covid times, I wanted my own one which I didn't have to return.

The Argos one is lovely. But out of stock near me as well.

The argos one doesn't look that comfortable. Unfortunately, comfort and style rarely go hand in hand

I have the same problem. A chair will need to live in the main living room or in the back room and I don't want an ugly massive office chair as there is no room but I am beginning to crack as the dining chair I am using is really giving me back ache

I am going to borrow a work one to see how I cope with having it around before spending any money

I've settled on this one:

I have this one. Really really comfy and the arms flip up to push under the table when not in use. Much recommended. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07V512CJR/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_7I61Eb6SZDS46?tag=mumsnetforu03-21
