Waiting for my son’s work to be marked- only joy in my life

Every morning I log on to see what his teachers have sent back
I’m really not a pushy parent, I just have nothing else to get excited about

How sad
He’s 12
He can’t do anything himself so I have to organise him.
We both hate it
Tears and tantrums every day

Can you work on equipping him to organise yourself? It’ll benefit both of you so much more.

Yes, I’ve tried for 8 weeks

My son's teacher hasn't left a comment on his work for the last 3 weeks. He's only 8 so I guess it isnt as important, but our school have been really disappointing thoughtout the closure. We were sent away with a pack that was meant to last 6 weeks, but only lasted us 2 weeks. Now the upload everything on a Monday but again, it only lasts the one day. The school have been operating on a "do 3 pieces of work a week" so I've been following the curriculum myself and giving him a full timetable and uploading work for feedback. We dont even get feedback on the assigned work, nevermind the extra he does. Just no response at all.

Through a lot of trial and error, what works best is me being his teacher and scribe

He has dyslexia and various processing issues- Had only just started the diagnostic process, so stuck in limbo land

Can he do any of it himself? Maybe he could be in charge of printing out the assigned work.
He doesnt need to organise it; just print it out and you will do the rest. Give him one task which requires one piece of organising and let him master it.

His school is following usual timetable and they’re being V strict. But it’s independent, so possibly scared of losing funds

I wouldn’t be worried if he wasn’t having to do much
