Swimming pool in garden

If you’ve got one.... how big is it? How big is your garden? Do you actually use it? How much was it? Anyone happy to share a picture?

I’m seriously tempted, probably for next year now, but want to do it properly so it’s usable and worth the money.

We have an above ground pool. It’s was great over summer though only because we had a heater installed so it was a nice temp. We also used a feather like previous people and had the kids friends over to play in it:

I would love if i had a ‘proper’ built in pool but I’d only do that if I knew I had the money to do it properly and keep it up over the years.

It did make me nervous in terms of safety though.

You can't just use chlorine in a outdoor pool, you will also need algaecide to prevent the green, floculant to clump together tiny debris so it gets caught by the filter or hovered up from the bottom and also water polisher . But before you do any of that is vital to have your ph and water hardness sorted out previous to you putting the chlorine in. It has to be done in a set order or will never balance out.

Even the best way above ground pools are more complex to run that people believe. It's one thing to say them up and empty them 4-5 days later but with larger pools it's not feasible so maintenance has to be priority.

@FraggleShingleBellRock I agree regarding the above ground pool. My husband spent a significant amount of time to maintain it and spent time and money on making sure we were using the correct chemical. Ours took over 24 hrs to fill so we couldn’t justify emptying and refilling it.
