Anyone get ovulation pmt and pmt? I get so angry/ moody/ grumpy with my husband and kids. It’s horrible. They don’t deserve it. I want to be the real me more of the month.
I’m in my late 30s and I’ve just discovered the ovulation moods since using a cycle tracking app.
Is there anything that might help??

Yeah I do.
I'm just 30 and went to the drs about it a few months ago. I wasn't on the pill or anything before hand but he put me on a new (to me) pill and it's helped loads.

I never went back on the pill after having DS(3) and I'd noticed the ovulation PMT about a year ago. Felt like it came on gradually but it was exhausting! I don't track my cycles of anything but I can tell when I'm ovulating by my mood as I still feel a bit more moody but no where near as bad.

Yes! My PMT symptoms just kept increasing until I was having it 2 weeks before period. And then periods for about 12 days.

I used to take magnesium which I think helped a bit. Before that agnus castus. My sis takes St. John's wort.

The usual attempts at no alcohol, sugar etc as well as exercise work to a certain extent but by the age of 42 I had finally got a doctor to take me seriously and refer me to a gynaecologist who said yes to my request for a full hysterectomy Grin

I’m glad I’m not the only one. I’ve had my tubes tied so I don’t need the pill (thank god because it made me nuts). I’ve made various attempts with evening primrose, vitamins, magnesium etc but nothing has worked to any noticeable extent. I just wish my periods would stop all together. I want to get off the rollercoaster.
If feel like since lockdown I’ve really had chance to get in tune with my moods because all the other stresses of everyday life have been removed and I can honestly say I’m moody and irrational for about half the time. For no reason it’s no ones fault (although it feels like it is at the time)

me

terrible mood crash, weight gain and ovulation pain

I've just started cerazette as that can stop ovulation altogether, so seeing as ovulation seems to cause my problems I thought it was worth a go to try and stop it

I've also started on some pretty high strength CBD for sleep BUT unexpectedly that definitely helped the ovulation pain yesterday (didn't start cerazette soon enough to stop ovulation for this month but hopefully next month)

I get really tired and low around ovulation plus have some cramping. Haven’t ever thought about what to do about it though...!

Gerbi1 · 31/05/2020 19:33

I get exhausted too! And bloated. I wish there was something I could do

I’m so glad it’s not just me! My DP calls it ovulation madness and thinks it’s worse than pmt. ovulation I’m cross, pmt just moany

MrsWhites · 31/05/2020 20:23

Me too, I’m almost 36. I don’t so much get the rage, I used to but that red mist feeling seems to have abated a bit in the last 12 months or so but I so from happy and cuddly (and up for sex) to exhausted, leave me alone and stop breathing so loudly overnight on about day 14-15. My cycle has also got shorter, went from a guaranteed 28 days to 26 again about a year ago.

Mskatonic · 31/05/2020 20:34

Yes! I get so angry! It's just been since my period returned after having my second dd, so about 6 months but it's so noticeable, the irrational rage. Totally different to pmt. And I get ovulation pain now, I can tell which ovary is releasing the egg it's so sore. Don't want to go on hormonal contraception again so not sure what to do to address it.

Has anyone tried anything that helps? X

Following this thread, I get super crazy moods these days, the week before I'm due i start bloating and start getting so emotional. I wont go on the pill but I'd love to hear other success stories

SureTry · 01/06/2020 19:43

I used to be really irritable and rage at DP, I put up with it until my periods became too heavy and my cycle was down to 23 days. I went on Noriday which saved me. I didn't rage and my periods became lighter. Unfortunately, due to manufacturing problems I've had to change to Cerazette. I've been on if for 2 months now, periods are heavy again, I was absolutely miserable for the first month of taking it and now I get dizziness and nausea around ovulation time 😩 I really hope it improves.

Gerbi1 · 01/06/2020 20:07

Is noriday a contraceptive pill?

Oh my god! I thought it was just me! Two weeks of the month I feel like shit and gain weight every day until my period arrives!!

JustOneLastThing · 02/06/2020 00:36

Me too. Don't feel I can complain as tale meds which regulate cycle and make me ovulate but fuck me, the bloated belly and ovulation pains are the worst!
