Best natural remedy for pmt

So. I'm 45 ive got a mirena coil that needs renewing in June. If that gets done it's another story!! For the last few months I've had raging pmt. It's made me neurotic, sad and a bit of a nutter. I'm awful to my boyfriend.

I'm thinking maybe a natural remedy might be the answer before I ask the gp for something. I can't go on like this. Every 3 weeks I sob and sob.

I've not tried anything yet as never suffered with pmt before.

why not contact the GP and ask for something proven and tested?

natural medicine that works = conventional medicine.

@mencken there is nothing proven and tested. The only things they offer are the pill (which could make it better if could make it worse, or things like anti-depressants/anti anxiety meds which aren’t really ideal either).

I had big problems with this. What really worked for me was lifestyle changes like quitting sugar, exercising more, scheduling my month around my pmt so I was under less stress/had fewer opportunities to massively screw up and taking something called 5HTP when I couldn’t schedule away the stress (I’m not confident how safe it is to be honest but it worked well for me).

Oil of evening primrose has been a game changer for me, but check side effects.

@kalim8 how big a dose do you take?

I take one 500mg with vitamin E a day during the week before I'm due.

Hi OP

I get terrible PMT and what has really worked for me is oil of evening primrose with star flower. It takes a few weeks but it has made a huge difference. It's worth a try and I highly recommend it.

There isn't anything. Low dose anti depressants OTOH are tested and proven. They are a wonderful thing, and have changed my life. Totally understand the desire to go down a natural route , but in my experience they just don't work...

Vit B complex and agnus cactus has really helped me and my mood

Oil of evening primrose here too. 1000mg (super strength) life changing for me
