My favourite book is Interview With The Vampire...what else might I enjoy?

I'm currently re-reading all my Anne Rice, then have Black Dagger Brotherhood lined up, and then maybe the Sookie Stackhouse novels too, although I'm not overly fussed about those.

Any suggestions for something else to try?

I have read a lot, but not recently (apart from a couple of fairytale adaptations suggested on another thread I started) & am quite enjoying myself with a brew & a book on an evening :)

The Historian?

Dryadia · 28/05/2020 23:46

Hollows series by Kim Harrison.

I love Annie Rice's Vampire books too. Gutted the TV series seems to have stalled, again!

But, to be honest I would love to see the Rachel Morgan books made into a TV series even more .

Dryadia, did you see the announcement about AMC buying the rights to the vampire chronicles and the Mayfair witches books?
Might be good, although I assume it will take a while to see them on screen.

Was just going to recommend that series @Dryadia ! The Otherworld series by Kelley
Armstrong is pretty good too.

The Discovery of Witches trilogy

Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy

Both really meaty addictive trilogies to get your teeth into

Normal People is a brilliant read too

Another vote for the Discovery of Witches series. It’s got everything you need!

MrsSlocombesPussy, Just read the AMC announcement, very interesting. Liked the Mayfair books too.

I'm just about to start reading the latest Lestat book.

Got to finish it before the new Kim Harrison comes out next month.

I'd also recommend anything by Anne McCaffrey. She got me into scfi and fantasy, LOL.

I just finished the 3 Kovacs (Altered Carbon) books. Which I also really enjoyed.

Interview with the vampire was my favourite book for many years, I don't know how many times I've read it.

"The vampire files" series of novels by P N Elrod are enjoyable. Written in the first person, vampire in 1920s Chicago.

Not vampires, but I really enjoyed "The Crystal Cave" trilogy by Mary Stewart. Written in the first person as Merlin, it takes you through his whole life story.

The Dresden Files BY Jim Butcher are terrific. Modern day warlock private detective in Chicago, he's quite witty and cynical. Written in the first person, very snappy and full of action and easy to read. Has magic and fairies and vampires in it . Also, if you find you do like it, then there are 15 books in the series, (and they do follow a story arc so you'd need to read them in order.) First book is Storm Front.

I'll search some of these now, thank you.
