Just thought I'd start a thread of guessing the song from the lyrics - they did it on a facebook group before and it was fun.
This isn't the easiest to start with:

Most of my usernames (I've had a few ) have been 80s lyrics.....
Without outing myself too much, here's another:

They sounded great, SeasideArms and I enjoyed them a lot (they were the support for tears for fears, who were fucking amazing), but he's changed a LOT since the 80s.
He wasn't a natural blond
And now has a big bushy beard

Your lyric isn't deacon blue, is it? I was due to see them this summer. Not a great fan, but they were supporting simple minds, who I do like.
