Looking for some ideas of things I can do with DS that doesn't involve online gaming. He's really into lego so I'm going to try and get some "normal bricks" so we can do a bit more free building but would love some more ideas of things that I can do with DS or he can do on his own....

TIA

  • make a stop motion film using the Lego (or something else).
  • something arty - paint, water colours, pastels etc.
  • Jigsaw, work on it together.
  • something puzzley - crosswords, sudoku, wordsearch (either together or on his own). Or you could make a treasure hunt for him with clues and/or he could do one for you.
  • baking or cooking - maybe teach him how to make his favourite meal or a selection of easy meals. He could maybe have his own recipe file and each time he learns a new recipe he could add it in.
  • sewing - he could make a wall organiser for his room or cushion covers (both easy and useful)
  • something helpful - if he is that way inclined, he could make face masks, write to people in isolation, cook or bake for charities that are looking for donations etc.
  • couch to 5k or 30 days of yoga or another physical challenge that you could do together.
  • show him some classic movies that he hasn't seen.
