Has anyone ever had any success with salt dough?

I've done these bloody things 4 times now and they've all gone soft. Currently on my 5th attempt which has been in the oven 10 hours now yet still not hard underneath!

What's going off? It looks foolproof!

Nope I had same issues. Kept cooking and cooking the bloody stuff!

I tried to do handprints but couldn't get DD's hand out without ruining the shape!!

Gis a clue - what recipe/cooking settings are you using?

re salt dough after you use oven leave salt dough overnight than leave somewhere warm & dry like airing cupboard or sunny window sill - it will dry over time just longer than you think - but it does last

(or cling film on hand)

Weve got a "baby bud" from Nina and the Neurons that DS made from salt dough about 10 years ago
However I didnt make the dough, or bake it so no help
