I know it's early , but I've got problems 'down there ' (a bit graphic ) sex related

I'm on furlough and DH is often working from home . We are having more sex than ever before , ( been together 23 years ) , there were often a drought
I think I have some sort of friction burn , if that is a thing . DH loooked at himself this morning as he felt itchy and he says got little red spots . I'm red and burning so I got a handful of salt and put it down there , now it's fucked and I'm soooooo sore ..the labia minora , he thinks thrush because I'm getting on a bit 🤷🏼‍♀️. And hence the salt and thrush usage
I've had a shower to get rid of the salt but it's burning still more so than before .
What can I do to remedy this . Yknow when you imagine a slug having salt on it that what it feels like
I need a GP for cream ? What can I use to stop the burning ? It feels like fire . I've got sudocrem can I put that there ?

I’m sorry but WHY did you put salt on your already painful vulva?!?!?!

That aside. My money is on thrush but if it’s new for you I would speak to GP just incase.

Mooey89 · 25/05/2020 08:18

Have you fitnesses any yoghurt? That will be nice and soothing. Or yes, sudocrem

Spied · 25/05/2020 08:19

Yogurt for now

It may be thrush. There is advise to put salt water on thrush as self help but it's more like one tablespoon to a pint of water so no wonder you're sore.

There'll be a pharmacist open somewhere even though it's a bank hols and ask them for advice.

longearedbat · 25/05/2020 08:24

AArgh! Salt! Why?
You could try sitting in a blood temperature bath for a bit to take the salt sting out, but other than that I would be off to the chemist for some Canestan. Speak to the pharmacist. If it is thrush, that will treat it (and treat your H as well), if it isn't, it won't do any harm at least.

Careradvice2019 · 25/05/2020 08:25

I put salt on it because you'd gargle with salt water if you have thrush in the mouth so I thought if I had thrush I could just put salt down there and it would work the same
In hindsight I should have done salt water not rubbing pure table salt there.
I've got activia yogurt ?
It stings , I don't get thrush or any problems in the vulva so yes this is new .

Why the bloody hell did you stick a handful of salt down there? Salt water, yes, not plain salt!

Christ, no wonder you're in pain! Natural yoghurt for now until you can get to a pharmacy.

AnyFucker · 25/05/2020 08:26

Pure salt ? 🤯

ScreamingKid · 25/05/2020 08:28

Right o.

Totally true.

We would all slather salt over our vag of it stings.Confused

Heatherjayne1972 · 25/05/2020 08:28

Could it be cystitis? Too much sex can cause that too
A trip to the chemist sounds like a plan

Poor you
Stay away from the salt tho

ScreamingKid · 25/05/2020 08:29

You could just Google thrush treatment. No?

itchyfinger · 25/05/2020 08:29

Err try the pharmacy or the supermarket? (For canestan, not salt)

Horsemad · 25/05/2020 08:30

God Almighty, that'll sting!!! 😲😲😲

I'd get in a tepid bath and then use natural yoghurt if you have any until you can get to a pharmacy.

donquixotedelamancha · 25/05/2020 08:33

Put some vinegar down there. If that doesn't work try ketchup.

mrsswayze · 25/05/2020 08:33

Maybe just lie with a cold wet flannel there to ease the sting then out some yogurt on. I'd try and avoid chemicals till it's calmed down ( had a bad experience with very once)

Careradvice2019 · 25/05/2020 08:33

Ok , brilliant, I'll go for some canestan. Hadn't thought of cystitis , I had that when I was pregnant with my 3rd child , it burned when I weed , this is pain on the outer
Thanks all

Sorry! I know you’re in pain but Grin As PP’s have said, not a single part of me ever thinks put salt on it when someone hurts. Haven’t you ever had a cut and gone in the sea?

Definitely get yourself to the chemist.

Careradvice2019 · 25/05/2020 08:35

And I'll grab yoghurt while I'm out too 👍.

Zippy1510 · 25/05/2020 08:38

Put the activia on. It’s a probiotic and full of lactobacilli so should help restore the vaginal flora and get of thrush or help if it’s BV instead. Don’t put salt in there and get canestan when you can.

Namechange8471 · 25/05/2020 08:40

STD?

EatsShootsAndRuns · 25/05/2020 08:44

Hmm yes, of course, this happened. Absolutely.

Zhuleva · 25/05/2020 08:57

@donquixotedelamancha Grin

MrsWhites · 25/05/2020 09:02

put salt on it because you'd gargle with salt water if you have thrush in the mouth so I thought if I h put salt on it because you'd gargle with salt water if you have thrush in the mouth so I thought if I had thrush I could just put salt down there and it would work the same

For the love of god what kind of logic is that?? You definitely need some Canestan cream from a chemist or supermarket, that will help if it is thrush but is soothing even if it’s just friction!

notsureofname · 25/05/2020 09:22

@donquixotedelamancha - brilliant response - still laughing.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 25/05/2020 09:46

I did similar. I used Protopic which is a form of eczema cream for the face. After ld put it own down south, l read the side effect of burning.

I was off work for 4 days. The only thing that worked was frozen Quorn........😖l ended up going to the doctors with what l thought was frostbite, as my legs and whole undercarriiage area was numb for weeks😁
