Painful Achilles heel after running

Ugh I'm googling and worried I have to stop running before I've even got going!

I completed couch to 5k and have run about 4 5k runs so far, my Achilles heel was mildly hurting after my run on Friday, mainly when going downstairs, but I decided to just take it slow yesterday and seemed to run it out by the end! However it's now hurting again and I'm worried about doing further damage.

Any one with experience of this?

pain that goes away while running that returns when resting points to inflammation.
normally I would tell you to rest for a few days, ibuprofen & ice or heat (depending on what feels better for you and to see a physio if it doesn't go away/get better for a week or so.

Rest and stretch gently.

You also will need to start building in strength training as you run more. Inactive gluteals are one of the causes of calf pain
