TV presenters hair and makeup

Are they doing it themselves? Or do they continue to have hair and makeup artists at the studio?

I’ve been pondering this for a while.

For instance Naga Manchetti has a short haircut and to me it doesn’t look ‘outgrown’.

And Ruth on This Morning seems to look very well coiffed.

I noticed Nagas hair looked quite out grown one day last week. Haven’t seen it since so can’t comment. And I know Ruth wears clip in hair so may be easy to looked coiffed.

Some hairstyles care better than others - mine is long and straight and with a bit of product and the Big Hair it still looks fine after a few months without a cut. Not the same as it would at first but definitely not “scare the children” style. And if you’d always had your makeup done for you you’d have an idea of what to do - also they might have had tutorials or got talked through it when this all began.

I think Ruth has had a go at hers, speaking as a hairdresser (albeit ex). Might do some once lockdown is over though.

They are doing their own, some are clearly more skilled than others.

I think it depends on the style/look. I look exactly the same as I did pre lockdown but it's because I have a thick fringe and always wear my hair up in a messy bun or ponytail.

They're all doing their own. You can see who's good at makeup and who isn't.

I think a lot of the tv presenters look better for not having such 'done' hair and makeup. It's fun watching the highlights growing out.

Her hair is, for her, really long. Her usual almost skullcap cut just grows out well, I think.

And looking at her now, she seems to have it well slicked down too.

I can't imagine it is too hard to trim short hair maybe the partner did it or she got on YouTube, I did think Charlie had a blow dry though

I think Naga has a lot of product in her hair to comb it back. At the back it looks different if they pan around. Charlie has candy floss hair. I think it’s great.

Of course they are still getting their hair and make-up done. And if you've ever been in an editing and production suite you'll know those spaces are typically tiny. Impossible to enforce 2m distancing. Yet all these programmes are still being produced and aired. You don't actually think everyone's been sticking to lockdown rules do you???? Lol.

I think they are getting their hair and make up done .They all look well turned out to me .Unless they have personal friends who are hairdressers /Barbers of course! The make up girls would presumably be wearing a visor and only seeing one person at a time.

Ruth put a video on Instagram of her doing her own makeup recently. And yes, I've noticed too that some presenters are much better at it than others.

It's become really noticeable in the last week with the male presenters particularly. There was one the other day whose sideburns were bushier than his balding head, which did make me chuckle.

It's bad enough having bad hair but at least most of us can hide away during lockdown!
