Nose job for bulbous thick skin nose

Anyone had rhinoplasty for a bulbous nose? What was your experience? I’ve checked realself / surgeons websites but generally found it hard to find similar cases of people with a bulbous nose as bad as mine Sad

It gets me down so much. Don’t see the point in spending on my hair/clothes/makeup etc when it won’t detract from such a terrible nose.

(Ive attached pics of my nose type)

there is nothing wrong with the shape of those noses. you have got hung up on this particular feature as being the source of your unhappiness but it is a misdirection. if you get surgery you will still the the same person and a different shape of nose will not make you any happier. your nose is fine.

Ah your nose is a bit like mine! Its lovely- strong but rounded rather than pointy. I went through a stage of wanting a nose job when I was younger but I'm so glad I didnt. I love strong noses now, I really dont like the piddly little ones that look like pencils. My ex had one and you could hear him breathing all the time, yuck!

Sorry nothing useful to add on the surgery front, but have you tried contouring? I dont do it every day, only if I'm having an 'ugly' day, but it makes my face look a lot more streamlined.

FWIW since I stopped obsessing about it and found my confidence I've had loads of male attention Smile all life is just a mind trick.

Go spend that money on makeup/clothes!

If that is you in the photo you look very pretty! I would love eyebrows like that, also you have a lovely smile 🙂 (also envious of your straight white teethGrin) I can see nothing wrong with your nose Smile

I think you look fine. V pretty.

I do know someone who had work done on a bulbous tip, though.
She was v antsy about the surgery and she bottled it and only got v minor work done in the end.
It didn't make much of a difference.
You do have to go the whole hog to make a real change for rhinoplasty.

The only thing wrong with those pics is the sinister-as-fuck blotted-out eyes! Your nose is lovely.

Hamsterian · 23/05/2020 07:38

You look absolutely lovely!!
The only thing wrong is those blotted-out eyes which are very scary but made me laugh 🤣

Not sure that actually is OP - she’s said it’s her nose type rather than actual nose?

Just to counter opinions... not rhinoplasty but I had other plastic surgery many years ago for an issue that had always bothered me. Friends and family were divided - some wondered and worried why I was doing it, others were on my side. It’s some of the very best money I ever spent because I no longer have the issue to be conscious of and it was absolutely the right decision for me.

I would find a) friends you can trust to be honest and b) a very well-qualified and experienced local surgeon who doesn’t offer free consultations. Paid consultations are more likely to give you an honest opinion as they’re not the same kind of sales opps for maximising £.

The same as the above poster, I also had plastic surgery for something that had made me self conscious ever since I was a child, and it was well worth it. There's a perception of surgery being a slippery slope, where if you've fixed one perceived problem then you'll find another to obsess over, but that wasn't the case for me at all. The surgery gave me so much confidence and genuinely changed my life. So, if one particular thing is badly affecting you, then I think surgery can truly help.

If that is really your picture and you get surgery please consider keeping a strong nose, and not getting a tiny button one that turns up. A strong nose like Gisele Bunchen or Dita von Teese would suit your face.

Good luck with whatever you decide. Flowers

Thank you for such kind comments. I know you mean well, and I wish everyone could be as lovely as you all are but sadly from my experience I really think my nose has held me back.

I don’t consider myself a vain or high maintenance person at all. (e.g., will go to work without makeup)
I just wish I could look average - in other words I don’t expect to have a cookie cutter, Kardashian nose.

To clarify, the pictures aren’t of me, they’re of a ‘popular’ YouTuber but I still blurred the eyes as it didn’t seem fair to show their identity. That being said she is one of the only people I’ve seen with a nose just like mine. Men usually have larger noses on average but mine is significantly more bulbous than most men.

@UhKevin and @MarioPuzo thank you both for sharing! I’m happy you found the right decision Smile

Haha, well to me I would consider both Dita Von Teese and Gisele to have tiny noses 😂 Having read up on rhinoplasty, with bulbous noses results are more conservative due to thicker skin

I could have written this post. I have exactly the type of nose you describe and it is very wide at the tip. I've wanted it fixed my whole life but now I think I might go for it...
