Did you need Clomid for baby 2?

It took 2 years for me to get pregnant with my 1st. We conceived on our first cycle of 50mg Clomid. Nothing was every confirmed to us as to why I needed it. At a guess I’m guessing I never ovulated or my eggs were poor quality when I did. My cycles were anything between 30-45 days. Since having my child my cycles are now 23-27 days. We’ve only been trying a month but as anyone who has suffered with infertility can understand a million and one things run through your mind. So my question is to wether you needed Clomid for your 2nd baby or not? Also if you did need Clomid... did your doctor prescribe it or did you need to go through a fertility clinic? How long did you have to try for until they gave you Clomid?
Thanks I’m advance.

I fell pregnant on my second round of Clomid. Exactly a year later I fell pregnant without Clomid and that took me 6 months.

No. I have PCOS so tried a long time to conceive DC1, succeeded on second round of clomid. Conceived DC2 within a couple of months of stopping contraception which was a surprise.

Exactly the same as happypotamus.

Yes, need clomid for baby #2. I am waiting for my period to come after taking a course of provera and then I can start it. We have been trying a year. I had to be referred to the fertility clinic again.

I have PCOS.

I have PCOS. Hardly ever ovulated, maybe twice a year.. Conceived with Clomid but miscarried at 12 weeks, conceived DD1 and DD2&3 (twins) without Clomid and have had regular cycles ever since. Recent scan showed no cysts on ovaries at all. Always assumed the first Clomid pregnancy ‘kick-started’ my hormones .

My mum did with me 36 years ago. She went on to have a 3rd without any help.
