Interview on Monday, supposed to hear yesterday, when would you chase?

I work in childcare, so obviously am not going to work at the moment.

Saw an amazing opportunity at an FE college to lecture in early years and childcare so applied and was really chuffed to get an interview.

Interviewed on Monday, they said my practical part for my interview was fabulous and that I did really well in the interview.

They said they'd get back to me yesterday, were really adamant and seemed really sure. But I've heard nothing, or today.

I have a friend who works in FE who says things can be quite disorganised so could this be normal or should I give up hope? Would you chase it or just leave it?

I'd leave until 3/4pm today. That gives them almost a full extra day to get in touch but doesn't look like you are hounding them

Absolutely yes, things can be very disorganised and even more so at the moment - there may have been paperwork needing to be returned to HR before an offer can be made, maybe someone forgot to sign something or tick a crucial box or similar and it's sitting in someone's inbox waiting to be dealt with. I'd give it at least a few more days, maybe next week chase if you still haven't heard?

Thank you that's helpful. I've had it before where I've had great interview feedback, they're promised to let me know before the weekend then I've had to wait until Tuesday to get a rejection email.

I guess if they didn't want me they might have told me by now, but I'm worried it's a brush off.

But like I say I've never had an interview for the FE sector before so it's helpful what you've said about contracts etc Maxelly.
