Any tips to keep the mosquitoes at bay (Deet etc have no effect)

Mosquitoes and all bitey things love me. Cue me being eaten alive regularly! Tried to eat dinner in the garden tonight but l got bit a number of times and quit after 10 minutes. I live in the UK but the garden is full of mosquitoes. Deet doesn’t put them off, no matter what strength it is. Do citronella candles help? Or anything else?

I use a citronella body spray, tea tree shampoo & lemon/tea tree body wash - everything else is unscented as they love me too.

Annoyingly l had just washed my hair with tea tree oil shampoo. No perfume or scented moisturiser. Do citronella candles actually work?

Not for me, apparently I'm far too tasty a treat for a little citronella smoke to put them off!

Avon Skin so Soft has always worked well for me!

The only thing that makes a difference for me is taking vit B. Literally went from getting bitten the whole time to never.

Eat loads of marmite. They hate yeast.

Yeast tablets worked for me. Skin So Soft didn't.

Boots had an insect repellent spray that clearly worked as I used to spray the glass topped table with it and all the mosquitos that hovered over it, thinking it was water, vanished. It was a silver spray bottle with a red lettered label I think. Probably Deet though.

It must have been their Own brand "Repel Maximum"

I have used the citonella candles from Italy before, you can get them on Amazon. They look like big lemon tarts and they aren't cheap but last for ages and are really effective. We live in Spain and have just brought a Thermocell from Amazon. We used it last night and it was brilliant. As I'm writing this I have just been bitten 3 times, so need to switch it on pronto . They live me too 😭
