...If your current one is ‘safe’

Considering the current climate would you look for a new job now?

Last year I said I’d look for a new job in 2020 (if I didn’t win an internal award which ties you to the organisation for 2 years!!!) I didn’t win and though ok that’s that then I’ll get looking!!

Started applying for jobs early in the year and by the time I was getting my office ready for lockdown and WFH I was having telephone consultations with recruiters- who then advised the recruitments had been put on hold due to uncertainty

I obtained a professional qualification in the last year for a similar role to what I do now but different business area and I want to use it/put it into practice- no current opportunities at my organisation so have been looking external

I have been with my employer 5years don’t hate the job but the spark has gone and I don’t have much time for the people. I feel it’s time to move on to something else but am I crazy for applying for jobs in the current climate?

Thanks all

Yes - I was looking just before Covid but being picky. My job is deathly boring and I am not using my full skillset. I am not even busy.

Now I am probably not going to find what I want for a very long time and there will be alot of competition!

@cordial11 I have found the roles available now are a few k less than similar roles were advertising in Jan/Feb. Not massive but where mainly the roles showed 30k+ it’s now 28k for example
Competition will be/is fierce!!

I wasn't looking but have seen a similar role in a more secure organisation which I will apply for.
