Which would you record?

The higher or lower?

Other day there was 4lbs difference!

My scales give a different reading depending on which part of the floor I put them on! I keep moving them until I get the lowest weight Grin

Definitely the lower!

On a serious note, do you mean the readings are straight after each other or diff times of day so after a massive dinner and needing the loo etc?

4lbs is still quite a lot so I would change batteries and if no change then get some more reliable scales

This has happenes to me with three different sets of scales! After I have uses them for a few months, they start working like this: i step on the scale and it shows (for example) 72 kg. I step off and immediately on again, and it shows 71 kg. If i repeat more times, it consistantly shows 71 kg.

So I record the lower number, but it is annoying to have to weigh myself twice each time. Might have to buy more expensive scales.

I do it several times until I get the same reading more than once, but I always go for the higher number so I'm not disappointed if it's the true one!

Do you mean 2 different readings immediately after one another (in which case I'd believe neither and change the batteries!) or at different times of the day e.g. first thing in morning vs after lunch? If the latter, I always weigh myself at the same time of day (1st thing in the morning) to avoid random fluctuations throughout the day...
