Daughter is thinking of buying a house. First time buyer.
We have thought of all the expenses involved in buying that we can, but perhaps we have missed something.
Tell me what you can think of please.
Oh and also maybe monthly expenses she will have.
TIA

Moving costs I can think of are lawyers fees, stamp duty, removal van (if needed)

Our monthly costs are, mortgage, council tax, gas and electric, tv licence, home insurance, life insurance, mobile, car, petrol, sky (tv/phone/internet).

Stamp duty
Moving costs, van hire, removal company
Solicitors fees
Surveys and reports
Initial repairs?
Indemnity insurance policies

Costs after moving-
Council tax
Mortgage
Electric
Gas
Water
Internet/phone
Home insurance/contents insurance
Maintenance etc if a leasehold property
Boiler service
Life insurance to cover the mortgage if she's buying with a partner
Paying the council for garden waste removal
TV like Sky/Amazon prime/Netflix
Tv licence
Burglar alarm maintenance?

Other moving stuff:
-Buying appliances that didn't convey
-Cleaning supplies or a cleaner
-Boxes, tape and packing items adds up
-Paying double rent/mortgage for a month or two if you can't leave a contract

Not moving costs, but new homeowner costs and how to prioritise:
-Common repairs (toilet running, broken hinge etc)
-Large repairs/replacements (boiler)
-Furniture
-Renovation and decoration costs
-Cost of buying necessary tools, lawnmower, vacuum etc

We moved into our new home at the beginning of the year and, despite it being in good condition, it's insane how much we've spent on just getting ourselves up and running in it.
