have you looked at ikea? link to website here. They do mattresses also, which last ages

I think Ikea do beds that are great value for money. They always seem very sturdy (3 out of 4 beds in my house arE from Ikea!)

I got a decent wooden frame one from Bensons

Ikea are hard to beat on price and reliability. My DS’s bed and mattress are still super comfy after 15 years: we’ve just had to replace the slats because the plastic connectors randomly disintegrated with age, but that was a simple job and cost us 40 quid for the replacement base (the replacement no longer has the dodgy plastic in it).

We have an idea single bed and mattress. The mattress is so good!
